Best family vacation in the Ozarks,We’ve driven all the way from Florida the last 3 summers in a row to stay at the lodge, with family from MO. Great food, location, river, cabins, friendly staff. Just the best food. This is not the place for a rowdy night of drinking, with the truck stereo cranked. It’s a fun family place, with lots to do. Kids love the zip line. Grownups love the bar! Did I mention the great food?! Highly recommend this lodge!
What a great place for a family vacation Can’t say enough about this place. The food was incredible – we had a vegan, a vegetarian, and a bunch of omnivores – all were fed with such wonderful fare that we really didn’t want to leave. The cabins were great – beautiful but understated antiques, quilts, etc. We took a great float trip down the Black River with all the family from our youngest children to our octogenarian mother (thanks, Dee). Thanks so much for the great time.
If you’ve been looking for a family resort that spoke to a simpler time like in the movie Dirty Dancing than look no more! Wilderness Lodge is a low key family resort with games and sports that are played not plugged in, gourmet breakfasts/dinners and staff who are friendlier and nicer than you can find anywhere else.
Visiting Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park is a must and so is a float trip down the crystal clear Black River. After a long day of exploring and rafting, chill with a icy cold beer or wine while your kids play some more at the putt putt or the sandy playground. Oh and munch on yummy appetizers till dinnertime.
Wilderness Lodge is multi-generation friendly and has the charm and vibe that says SUMMER IS HERE!
